CCTV Services - Off Site Monitoring
Over the last ten years there has been an increasing demand from
our customers to provide Off Site CCTV Monitoring. After the initial
purchase this is extremely economical when compared to traditional
man-guarding. A fully installed system would normally start at approximately
£5000.00 typically providing four static cameras complete
with external detection, public address system and off site video
transmitter. There would be then an annual monitoring charge for
the first twelve months of approximately £850.00. For reduced
camera quantity the costs are lower.
From the second year onwards the monitoring charge would be a similar
cost in addition to which there would be a maintenance premium of
approximately £850.00 for that size of system.
The system operates on an ADSL/broadband line for which you would
require a Fixed IP Address. This provides rapid connection to the
Remote Video Receiving Centre (RVRC). On leaving your premises in
the evening the system would be set with a key pad following which
any activation on your detectors would trigger an alarm call to
the RVRC, where the operator would be able to observe images from
your cameras. If intruders are observed on your premises they would
then be requested, on the public address system, to leave immediately.
Should they fail to do so the Police and/or your Key Holders would
be informed.
Normally when intruders are given the audio warning describing
where they are and how many are present they realise it is not simply
a recorded message. Usually they then leave the premises without
further delay. The system can be designed to cover both internal
and external areas. While an intruder alarm system linked by Red
Care to a Control Centre does provide a certain level of assurance,
the off site CCTV system provides an almost immediate response as
the operator can confirm intruders are on site!
The design, installation and maintenance of this type of system
is critical to its successful performance. Systems are so often
installed by Companies who fail to take account of the criteria
for successful operation. It is not unusual to visit a system installed
by a competitor where the customer has 'concerns' about its operation.
In the majority of those visits we can, within the first ten minutes
identify obvious failings confirming the doubts initially expressed!
Unfortunately these situations are often created by that customer
accepting the lowest tender for the installation. The appointed
company then provides a similar low cost for maintenance on the
basis that they seldom visit the site unless requested, relying
on the operator at the RVRC to resolve any problems. It simply never
happens.
D J Byers Ltd offer a realistically priced installation with dependable
servicing/ maintenance undertaken by engineers trained in the products
provided to our customers. This quality of support is reflected
in the premium for annual maintenance.
